Community Outreach - Handchime Grant Program

Periodically, Philadelphia Handbell Ensemble selects a special project as part of its outreach mission. This year's outreach project was directed to the regional educational community. A two-octave set of handchimes that was donated to Rockville Learning Group, Honeybrook, PA. Kimberly Williamson was the teacher who accepted the award. PHE will also provide a workshop, training, and mentoring to the school, teachers, and students.

We are looking for Friends who will assist us with our future outreach projects. If you are interested in being involved, please become a Friend and designate your donation for "PHE Outreach Project".

2005-2006 Community Outreach Project
Philadelphia Handbell Ensemble adopted the handbell program at the 1st Methodist Church in Slidell, LA. Their entire church was devasted from the floodwaters of hurricane Katrina. Although they were able to rescue their 5-octave set of Schulmerich bells, the bells were severely damaged and in need of total refurbishment. Their bells are the only items that we salvaged from their church. PHE was able to raise and donate a little over $3500 to help in the church´s effort to rebuild their handbell program.
